The Aquatronica 465mV Redox Calibration Solution (ACQ-410-RX), available in a 50ml bottle, is used to properly calibrate an ORP (oxidation-reduction potential) or redox electrode. This allows for accurate measurement of the redox potential in either freshwater or saltwater aquariums.
What is ORP and why is it measured?
ORP, or Redox Potential, measures the ability of a solution to oxidize or reduce another substance. In aquariums, monitoring the ORP is a key way to determine the water quality and effectiveness of filtration. Calibrating the electrode ensures that your readings are accurate.
